Tote Bags and Peony Blossoms

I had a great time sewing this bag.  I participated in the Notion's Tote Bag Sew-Along sponsored by Jenna at I got the Notion.  We signed up by posting a comment on her blog, she e-mailed the pattern to us with a list of materials.  Jenna then posted very detailed instructions with great pictures and with a three post tutorial she showed us how to sew the bag.

I caught a little of the "blue light" I have heard about while taking this picture.

This bag has several inside pockets
I will try the pattern again later and maybe use some bright contrasting fabrics.

This afternoon my husband and I were able to get the mulch added to a flower bed we worked on yesterday.  As we finished we realized it might rain so we finished up quickly and headed inside.  On my way I noticed that my pale pink peonies were all blooming and would be dropping their petals if it did rain.  I quickly cut them and this is my bouquet.

Notice the cat in the corner, she doesn't belong on the island

She is coming to see what is going on

She really does enjoy getting her picture taken

I moved the bouquet to a place away from the cat
Look at the sunset in the background, a double blessing

These little blessings made me smile!
I hope you smile too!

  7. Sherry,

I wish I had your sewing skills! Your tote bag is stunning. Peonies are one of my favorite blooms. I am surrounded by a commercial flower farm and his first crop every year are peonies -- thousands, in every color! Yours look gorgeous especially with that beautiful sunset in the background.

  9. Hi Sherry,
How lovely that you caught the sunset, and got those peonies inside before the rain. Little blessings, for sure, but ones to be grateful for. Sometimes it's the little things that get us through the day!!
Thanks for linking up to Wednesday Gratitude with this perfect post.
    Have a great week,
    XO

  10. What a pretty bag, I'm not good with needle & thread so I always admire people who can make things. :) The Peonies are gorgeous, nice way to display them too.
