Love and Joy To You

This year for our church Christmas Dinner our theme is "Christmas Around the World" and I chose for my table theme "Victorian England."   I set up my table with just three place settings so that I would know how I will want things to look on the day of the dinner.  I will be setting a round table for seven people.
My inspiration came from the December 1999 edition of the Victoria Magazine.

There were so many wonderful ideas and I read about traditions for
 "A Merry English Yule"

I will share with you how I will set up my table for my Christmas in Victorian England

Love & Joy To You

My plates are a 12 days of Christmas set by Debbie Mumm

A Partridge in a Pear Tree

Two Turtle Doves

Three French Hens

The fabric on the centerpiece is also designed by Debbie Mumm

"CRACKERS" filled with little present seem to be an important part of an English  Christmas.
They are wrapped in Debbie Mumm fabric.

We mustn't forget the Christmas Pudding!

In this issue of Victoria there was an article about a wonderful author named Rosamunde Pilcher.  I have read several of her novels.  Her home is actually in Scotland and I enjoyed reading of some of her family traditions.

"Even when we spend Christmas at our small house in Dornoch on the Scottish coast - though it's a bit of a squash with lots of people - the ritual is the same," says Rosamunde.  "We roast two turkeys, we pull the crackers and read the jokes, and it all ends in games and laughter."

May your days be filled with love and laughter.

Blessings to you and your family as you prepare to celebrate the birth or Our Lord Jesus Christ.
I hope you enjoyed visiting my Victorian Christmas table!
