Prayer For A Sweet Heart

I want to start this post by asking you to pray for a sweet little boy named Eli.  Eli has attended our church since the day he was born.  He has two brothers, a little sister and parents who love him dearly.  Eli was born with Congenital Heart Disease or CHD.

I want to share a few facts about CHD
Congnital Heart Disease (CHD) is a birth defect of the heart muscle.
2 million Americans are living with CHD.
Each year 40,000 more US babies will be born with CHD, 8,000 of them won't live to see their first birthday.
CHD is the MOST common and MOST lethal birth defect, not just in the USA but world wide.
One out of 100 babies has a heart defect.  CHD is as common as autism but receives less research funding.

Eli's sweet mommy Angela gave me this little card with the sweet little bracelet attatched and asked if I would share this on my blog.  The card shares about a book called "Heart Warriors" by Amanda Rose Adams.  Amanda and Jim Adams' son Liam was born with half a heart.  This book, which tells what it is like being a Heart Mom, can be found here.   We don't always know what to do or say when people we love deal with such trials.  We could donate to the Children's Heart Foundation to help make a difference.  I think the hardest thing is knowing what to do on an everyday basis when we don't know what to say or how to encourage?  My answer to this difficult question is just be there as much as possible and daily prayer.  My prayer for those who deal with the most difficult situations in life, those concerning our children, is that they would have the peace of God each day as they walk through this trial.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, who's mind is stayed on thee, because he trusteth in thee.
Isaiah 26:3
