Love Pinwheel Pastry Pincushion

I am excited about finishing one of my old projects.  My "Love Pinwheel Pastry" pincushion.  I had the embroidery completed some time ago and put the project aside.  I have a few more pincushion kits from the Shabby Fabrics pincushion of the month club.  I started out thinking I would complete each project as it arrived in the mail but that was not how things worked out.

I added this project to my list for the 2015 Finish Along which helped to motivate me to get to it.

I love the finished project and am looking for a small pedestal cake stand or candle holder to put it on.

I plan to add a few embellishments to the sides, I am not sure what I will use yet.

Fun project

On to the next pincushion kit.

September Finish

I was able to complete my ADORNit block of the month quilt this week.  I was excited to get it done for two reasons, it was my September goal and I was able to share it with the others at our Sit and Sew.  A few of us did this quilt as our block of the month project at our Sit and Sew.  Only two of us had completed our projects and shared yesterday but is was fun to see the variations.  We used a lot of the back sides of the fabrics in this quilt top.  It is very different for me but I do really like this quilt.

One of the other ladies that made this quilt is also a fabulous quilter.  She is willing to quilt mine for me when she gets hers completed.  Yeah!

September Goal Setting

I have thought a lot about what I wanted to choose for my September goal.  There are so many projects to choose from.  I will be attending the last Sit and Sew for this year in late September.  I will miss the monthly gatherings with my Whidbey Island Friends.  Some of us were working on the Adornit block of the month.  I have done a pretty good job of keeping up and would like to complete the top by the end of September.

This is the kit with a small portion completed.

Another section, this quilt uses a lot of the backs of the fabrics which has been a new idea for me.

More of the completed blocks, I am having fun with this.  It is not like anything I have made in the past but I know I will like the finished quilt.  I think the hardest part has been the cutting, there are so many different fabrics in this quilt.  I haven't followed the fabric choices just as described in the directions but that was encouraged from the beginning.  Restating my goal, complete my ADORNit quilt top.  It would be great to get the back ready too but I don't think I should push too hard, or should I?
