Super Sized Quilt Along

I enjoyed working on the Super Sized Quilt Along, thank you to Corey at Little Miss Shabby for sharing the pattern and tutorial.

I have a little more of the Winter's Lane fabric and have a couple of things in mind I would like to make with it.

I took my pictures outside but it is still hard to see the beautiful fabric.  I liked sewing the large blocks and hope to quilt this myself.  I talked to Melanie at her shop Fabric Chicks  last week and she gave me a few ideas about quilting it.  I will add this to my list of projects to finish.

A Little Sewing Therapy

I have done a little sewing lately and I do consider it therapy.  As long and I am not pressured or rushed a little time spent hand or machine sewing is relaxing to me.  The little baby shoes below I made recently for a sweet little girl.  They are so fun to put together.

This weekend for my sewing therapy I made two Building Foundations Sampler blocks.

I also completed my October Block for The Sugar Block Club.

We traveled to Wenatchee this weekend to attend a memorial service for my Aunt Jean.  She was my mom's oldest sister.  She and I would talk about sewing and cross stitch and gardening and of course family when we had the opportunity to spend time together.  She and Uncle Jack would always opened their home to us when we traveled that way to attend sports events with our children.  She was a blessing to many and will be missed.

Trip To Knoxville

It is always great to visit family we haven't seen in a few months.  This is our first visit to their new home in Knoxville, Tennessee.  We flew out here on Tuesday and now that it is Sunday we will be heading back soon.  I thought I would share a little a our our time here.  This will be my first blog post using an iPad.  I may have to do some editing later.

We took a drive waaaay out in the country to the pumpkin patch.

Harper enjoying some time in a rocker on the porch.

Waiting for lunch at Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant.

Today we celebrated Harper's first Birthday with fun decorations, food that Harper loves, a slide show featuring Harper and a playlist of Harper's favorite music and of course presents.

I think that's enough cake for now!

How quickly the time passes but we are thankful for the opportunity to be here.  We are blessed.

Thursdaisy

I have been keeping up with my Daisy Days blocks but not with my blog posts.  Here is last months embroidery blocks and the pieced blocks for Jenny of Elefantz's Daisy Days.  I am working on Fridaisy but have a lot to do to get it done.  I am not doing much stitching lately but have enjoyed visiting with our son, daughter in law and granddaughters here in Knoxville.
I will share our visit here a little later.

Building Foundations Sampler

I have joined with the  Building Foundations Sampler Quilt Along at Row House Creations.
Three blocks complete so far, this is going to be a fun sampler.  I am thinking I might make two of each of the blocks, I have several fat eighths of this fun fabric.

Visit Row House Creations here or click the link on my side bar and join in this Quilt Along.  It is Friday and time to pack for my trip to Cannon Beach Christian Conference Center.  There will be 11 ladies, including me, in the van I am driving and 6 others meeting us there.  I am hearing that the sun should be showing up soon too!  Have a great weekend.
