I Finished a Couple of Projects!

Woo Hoo!  It has been a while since I have been able to complete sewing projects.  That would be any projects actually.  Below is my zig zag quilt that I had added to my 2016 Finish list.  I sent it to be quilted, Kathy did a fabulous job and now it is bound and ready to use.  I do have to add a label though now that I think about it.

I took the pictures on a rainy day so they were taken inside and do not do the quilt justice.

You can see the quilting a little in the picture below.  I love that Kathy was creative with the quilting.

I am now sure where this quilt will end up or with whom but for now I am content that it is complete.

The project below was made for a family in our church who lost their sweet baby at birth.

We completed it and gave it to sweet baby Ian's family.

We were able to give this as a gift of rememberance of this child.  It was a labor of love made with a few tears.

I hope to have a little sewing time and maybe finish a projet or too in December but I know it will be a busy time.  I want to focus on the blessings of now and not miss what each day brings.
Maybe it is time for a little Christmas music and some decorating.

I will link with Julie at The Crafty Quilter and share my November finish.

Proposed Finishes 2016 Finish-Along Q3

I was able to complete a few of the projects on my list for the second quarter but will move some over to my new list and add some that I had not posted.  Planning goals has helped me to stay focused on finishes and I have been able to cross some off my list.

Adornit quilt, complete the pieced back and quilt and bind it.

Sunshine quilt, complete blocks and borders, quilt, bind.

Make a pillow or wall hanging.

Make pillow or wall hanging.

Quilt and bind baby quilt.

Fall quilt that I made for the Desire to Inspire Challenge at Henry Glass Fabrics.  Prepare backing, have it quilted and bind it.

Another quilt from the Desire to Inspire Challenge.  Needs quilting and binding.

Snapshot quilt, top complete and sent to quilter, bind when completed.

I have the backing and binding material so this small quilt is waiting to be completed.

Lincoln Schnibbles, top pieced, quilt and bind to complete.

Vintage Quilt, quilted and ready for binding.

These are my goals for the 2016 Finish Along.  I am sure they are more than I will get to but I will keep working to complete as much as can.   I will be linking with the 2016 Finish Along Q3 here.  It is fun to visit and see what plans other quilters have for the quarter.

Tumbler Quilt Complete

This quilt was simple and fun to make and is now a gift for one of our granddaughters.  I love the cheerful Riley Blake fabrics and the quilting made this simple quilt pop.  It was not the number from my All people quilt list that I had planned to complete because when I decided that it would be Rosie's birthday present.   I started to work on this instead of my #10 project, this was such a busy month and I did not spend a lot of time sewing.

Rosie's birthday is tomorrow, I hope she likes her quilt.  This project is shared on my post for the 2016 Finish Along post here .   I will link with Julie's Hello 2016 Goodbye UFO's post here.  I will also be linking with the 2016 Finish-Along Q2.

May Finish Goal

I thought I would post my goal for the month of May.  I think that posting it on my blog helps me to stay focused on completing it.  I have so many new projects that I would love to start but I want to see some finishes even more.  Number 7 on the list was chosen for the APQ  2016 Finish Along for the month of May.  My Snapshots quilt was number 7 on my list so that is what I plan to finish for May.  The blocks are complete and I have started cutting the pieces to put the quilt top together.  I hope to get this to the quilter by the end of the month.

Here are four of the twelves blocks, I have had fun putting these together and know this is going to be a great quilt.  Happy Stitching!

Birthday Flowers and My April Finish

I had a birthday a few weeks ago and I took pictures of the pretty flowers I received as gifts.

Flowers just seem to make me smile when I see them.

They make me think of the sweet family and friends that gave them to me.

I was able to do the final stitches on my April finish goal last night.  My Quirky Scrap quilt is now complete.  It even has a label attached.

This is such a fun cheerful quilt.  I am not sure where this quilt will reside but now it is ready to go when we decide who it is for.

Second Quarter Goals

I was looking through my projects trying to decide what I should try to complete this quarter.  I have many that I would love to cross off my list.
Quilted and waiting for binding.

This quilt top has  been sent to the quilter and I hope to get it back and put the binding on right away.

I want to get the backing ready for this quilt, have it quilted and put the binding on.

This is a quilt that I thought I might quilt myself (maybe) and add the binding.

I have four rows made for my row quilt.  I want to make another row and a few small joining rows before having it quilted.

I plan to complete this Schnibbles quilt by quilting it myself.  I have a great piece of fabric for the binding waiting to be used.

I plan to make a pieced back for my Adornit quilt and have been putting it off.  I had a great time piecing this quilt so now it is time to get it quilted and bound.

All of my blocks for my Snapshot quilt are complete.  Now to piece them together and have it quilted and finish the binding.

This project is all cut and four blocks are made.  It is going to be a beautiful quilt top someday.

This is a mini that I completed piecing a while back and I plan to make a pillow out of.

This too will be a pillow when I get it done.

I know that I have  made bigger plans than I will probably get to but wouldn't it be great if I just got it done.  It always helps when I have a plan and I do love making lists and crossing the things off that I accomplish.  I will be linking my list with the 2016 Finish-A-Long here.  It is fun to take a look at the goals others have set for the second quarter.  Happy creating, enjoy the process.

Spools Quilt Complete

My Spools quilt was on my list for the All people quilt"s UFO Challenge 2016. We were supposed to work on #3 on our list for the month of March so I purchased some gray fabric to make the binding.  I had thought I might sew the binding on completely by machine but in the end I sewed it on the front and had stitched it to the back.  I enjoy the process of hand stitching so I am not ready to give up that part of the process.  We were waiting for the sun to come out so that we could take a picture. The sky was a little gray and the wind was blowing but my husband held up my quilt for me so that I could snap a picture or two.

This was also a project I listed on my 2016 Finish Along list here.  It is great to be able to get some projects finished and check them off the list.  I also love to add new ideas to my next projects list and seem to find new ideas almost daily.
 Happy Stitching!
I will be sharing this post and finish at "The Crafty Quilter", Hello 2016 Goodbye UFO's.  Visit and see the projects that have been finished this month.
I am also linking with the 2016 Finish Along first quarter finishes at Clover & Violet.
