More BOM Rehab

I have been focusing my sewing on dresses for a wedding but did find a little time to complete a few Blocks of the Month blocks for BOM Rehab.

2011 "Give Thanks" BOM by Jenny of Elefantz.
I made this as a gift and give the additional blocks as I complete them.  See the original project here.

Bloggers Block of the Month April Block.

Two more blocks and the embroidery is done.

Thank you to Sinta at Pink Pincushion for this great book, it is full of beautiful projects. I won the BOM Rehab giveaway for April.  Back to the machine to get those dresses done.

Another Sweet Baby Girl

We had another exciting event in our family.   Our new granddaughter Emalynn Kate was born on May 2nd.  She looks a little like each of her brothers but she does appear to have a little red in her hair like her brother Caleb.  We will have to wait a while to if her hair will be red or blond.

I will have to get busy and update my "About Me" section on my side bar as we now have 13 grandchildren.  We are blessed.

Promises and Borders BOM

These past few weeks have been busy with very important and exciting events.  I have done very little sewing or blogging or blog reading for that matter.  I hope to share some pictures tomorrow of our newest little granddaughter who is almost 2 weeks old now.
I do have one block of the month to share.  I could use a good pressing but that will have to wait.  This is block 3 from Jenny's Promises and Borders.     I have blocks 4 and 5 printed off and hope to get to them soon.

I haven't done much for Sinta's BOM Rehab at Pink Pincushion but will be getting back to it soon!
The rehab does keep me motivated to complete a block to post.

Minutes For Me Sewing

I took a day this week to just sew something I wanted to sew.  Not the things I plan to check of a list of accomplishments.  I was thinking about the idea behind May For Me - taking the time to do something just because you enjoy it.  I was able to sew bags I had cut out some time ago and I really did enjoy working on them.  I have made at least 20 of these bags and sometimes I go on auto pilot and make a mistake or two.  There was some use of the seam ripper but I did enjoy the process.

Each of these bags was made with someone in mind and will be going to them soon.

This was a Minutes for Me sewing project that ended up lasting a few hours.

My May for Me plans include increasing my exercise, the main part of that will be making walks with our dog much more consistent.  She is very excited about this part of my plans.  I will have to share the scenery we enjoy on our walks in a post.  We are expecting some sunshine soon here which always helps when it comes to outdoor exercise.

Fun Projects

Sometimes life is so busy and  I just can't find the time or energy to post on my blog or read others.  I love taking a little time each day reading about what is happening in the lives of blog friends and family and friends.  That has not been happening much lately.  I have loaded pictures I have been meaning to share and decided that today I would work a little on completing a post or two.

Below is a picture of a project I completed a short while back.

I found the idea and pattern for this sweet applique while visiting Jacquelynne Steves blog

I usually enjoy hand applique but this was a project I was able to start and finish in one afternoon.  I am convinced that projects like this mixed in with my longer projects help me to stay inspired.

I have also worked on more fun little shoes for babies like the ones in this previous post here
I realized that this is the only picture I took of the little shoes completed.
