January Goal is Complete

I chose this quilt as my goal for January, all it needed was binding and a label.  It has both.  It is one of my favorite quilts I have made and it is so nice to have it completed.  My husband likes this quilt also so I think it will be his.  It needs to be washed to soften it up.  The rain has not stopped here so I had to make do with a picture taken inside.  It does not show how fun the quilt is and the fabulous quilting but I wanted to link this up with One Monthly Goal at Elm Street Quilts.  I have decided that this will be a year of finishes and I am happy with the projects I have accomplished.  I will share some of my quilt tops that are ready to be quilted soon.

The binding on this quilt is scrappy, I had a lot of leftover fabric.  A scrappy binding for a scrappy quilt.

Visit Elm Street Quilts here to see who has finished their January goals.  In my blogpost here I listed this as one of my goals for the 2018 Finish Along Q1.  I will be linking this finish.

Lofty Goals for the 2018 Finish-Along

I have chosen a word for the year.  The word is finish.  I hope to use this word when making decisions in all areas, not just when it comes to sewing.  I want to focus on finishing the things I start.  Finish that book I started reading or that letter I began writing or the plans I was making to invite someone over or finish organizing that closet.

There are many verses in the bible that use this word.  I hope to focus on memorizing a few of them.

John 17:4 Jesus said "I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do."

I am sharing several pictures of projects that I hope to accomplish in the next few months.  I am not sure how much time I will have to work on my sewing but I will make every effort to complete what I can.  I will link my post with the 2018 Finish Along.  I appreciate the encouragement the finish along provides.

Magnolia Mystery quilt.  Complete the top before the February parade of quilts.

The Children's Library Mystery Quilt.  One more block to complete before putting the top together.

Tree blocks complete.  Make a Christmas pillow or two.

Building Foundations blocks, 1-17 complete.  Make 3 more blocks and sew together to make a quilt top.

A Quilting Life 2017 Block of the Month.  One more block to make, sew together for a quilt top and get it ready for quilting.

Mini, ready to be quilted and made in to a pillow.

Churn Dash quilt top, quilt and bind.

ADORNit quilt, pieced and quilted, needs binding and label.

Visit the 2018 Finish Along and see what others are planning to work on.

Happy finishing!

Wow it is 2018 - What is my January Goal?

I have always been a list maker.  Especially when it comes to my sewing and embroidery projects.  I love crossing off or writing down the date that I finish something.  I am working on a list of twelve quilting projects I hope to complete this year and this is the first I will work on.

This is my Adornit block of the month quilt.  It is all quilted but missing something, the binding.  It has been ready for me to finish for a while now and this is the month.  I will post when it is bound and labeled.  I did not label all of my quilts at first but I plan to label all moving forward.  I will be linking this post to One Monthly Goal at Elm Street Quilts.  I appreciate these link ups, they always help in the area of motivation.  Happy Stitching!
