August Sewing

I was looking around my sewing room and realized that I had not shared the pictures of the two quilts I finished up this past month.  One was my March goal that I talked about in this post, I guess it is better late then never.  The little quilt pictured below is my Bungalow quilt, now complete.

I did a bit of machine quilting but plan to do more on my next small quilt.

I love the minky on the back of the quilt.  It is good to check a project off on my long list of UFO's.

The next project that has been checked off my list is my Flag quilt.

This was made using Stars and Stripes by Camille Roskelley.  I hope to make another from this pattern soon.

I like the simple wavy line quilting on this one.

I keep trying to mark finishes off on my long list of UFO's but have added a new project to the list now and then.  Keep finding joy in being creative.  Happy Stitching!

Baby Quilt

I sometimes don't realize how much time has passed between posts.  I guess I have been pretty busy but I have missed blogging and keeping track of projects I work on.  I wanted to share a baby quilt I recently completed.   The fabric I used was sent to me by Amy at A Quilting Sheep.  I have followed her blog for some time and have enjoyed getting to know her a little through her posts.  She is a very generous lady.  When I told her how much I liked the fabrics she was using in a project she offered to send me some of the fabric.  I received a box in the mail full of fabric pieces of many different sizes.  I had fun working with it and have other plans for its use in the future.

This is a scrappy quilt I made for my niece, her baby is expected in October.  I quilted it myself and I know I could use a lot more practice.  I do know that small projects are my limit when it comes to quilting them.  Next time I will add a bit more quilting.  Thank you Amy for your generosity.

I am working on several Block of the Month projects this year, I will share them her soon.

Blessings,
Sherry

April Monthly Goal Complete

Here it is my goal for April, my Ducks in a Row quilt for our newest grandson.

I did the machine quilting in wavy lines and realized that I have room to improve.  The lines below the ducks were the first and were pretty close together, getting farther apart as I worked my way down.

It looked much better once I completed the binding.  I washed it after taking this picture and I like how it softened up, the differences in the spacing of the quilting is not quite so obvious.

Ducks in a Row by Sew Fresh Quilts is a fun and easy quilt to put together.  I will link up my One Monthly Goal finish at Elm Street Quilts and to  "Let's Make Baby Quilts at Michelle's Romantic Tangle.
