June Goal and Beyond

I am excited that it is only the middle of June and that I have completed my goal for June.  This quilt top is made with the Chantilly fabric line by Lauren and Jessi Jung.  I really like the cheerful bold colors.  I wanted to get it pieced so that I could give it to my favorite quilter, Leslie.  I do have to get the back ready before I see Leslie in July.  I took this picture at the last Sit and Sew I attended. I went there determined to complete this top and share my "ta da" before moving on to any other projects.

I will link this up with ALYOF 2015 later this month.

The picture below is of a box of fabric I won in a giveaway.  The box arrived all the way from Switzerland from Vreni who blogs at Oops-Lah.  Vreni just moved from Singapore to Switzerland.

I have already started thinking about how to use these fabrics.

I have a link on my sidebar to That Quirky Scrap Quilt Along.  I was not planning to join any new stitch alongs or start new projects until completing some of the many projects I have started.  This project helps take care of scraps and my basket was overflowing, and still is by the way.  These are the blocks I have completed so far for this project.   It is going to be really scrappy.

While sorting through scraps and straightening up my sewing room I made a stack of some of the projects pieced together and waiting to be completed.  This is the pile I made in just a few minutes.  I can see 13 projects and that does not count those in process.  It is time to get these things completed don't you think.  Do any of you who quilt or sew have so many unfinished projects waiting for you?

A Little Bit of This and That

Does anyone else put pictures in a blog post draft and not complete the post?  I find that I do that and by the time I get back to it I have forgotten where I was going with the post.  The first pictures here are some that I did that with.

Matthew trying to put sun screen on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.  His daddy coaches a high school baseball team and we were at one of their games.

Mother's Day dinner grilled by our son in law Kevin.  The other "boys" each brought something to the fabulous meal.

Micah made these yummy treats, I was told that it was a very easy recipe but all that mattered to us was that Micah cooked.

I did a little sewing when I could find a few minutes to go up to my sewing room so I will show you some of the results.

Another block from my Flower Garden Quilt, 3 done and 9 to go.  I bought this block of the month a long time ago and it is on my "Finish this Project" list.

This block is the 11th block for my Sugar Block Club 2014.  One more block and this can be added to the pile of quilt blocks that now need to be pieced together into a quilt top.
I hope you had a good weekend.

Spring Petals Quilt Along (almost quilted)

I posted earlier here about my Spring Petals Quilt Along project.  I had a lot of fun working on it and then had no time to get the quilting and binding done.  So much to sew and so little time!

Here it is backing batting and top all put together ready for my attempt to machine quilt it.  I wanted to share my almost completed project with Julie at the Crafty Quilter because I really appreciated the quilt along and her great tutorials on her blog.  I will complete this table topper as soon as I can get to it.

So here it is in the almost done stages, this is a pattern that I will use again, there are so many ways to make this.  Visit Julie's blog here and see the other projects that have been linked up.

Happy Sewing!  I am looking forward to spending the day at a Sit and Sew with a great group of ladies tomorrow.  We have a special breakfast, a grandson's birthday party and a trip to the ocean planned for the next few days.  The weather should be great so that is an added bonus.  I hope your weekend is a great one, and don't miss the little blessings.

June ALYOF 2015 Goal

I had so many projects that I really want to finish so I kept looking through them and finally decided that this quilt top was the one I wanted to get ready to be quilted.  It is a pattern from a Sew -it Today magazine Oct/Nov 2013.  It is called "Me & My Dolly" Quilts.  The rows are stacked and labeled, ready to sew together.  I am not sure that a will make the dolly quilt but it is cute.

With the help from friends I was able to get the lay out the way I wanted and started to sew the rows together.

This quilt top was getting put aside so pulling it out for my June goal seemed like a good idea.

This is going to be a fun quilt with cheerful bright prints.

I will be linking with A Lovely Year of Finishes Goal Party here at Sew Bittersweet Designs or here at Fiber of All Sorts.
