April Monthly Goal Complete

Here it is my goal for April, my Ducks in a Row quilt for our newest grandson.

I did the machine quilting in wavy lines and realized that I have room to improve.  The lines below the ducks were the first and were pretty close together, getting farther apart as I worked my way down.

It looked much better once I completed the binding.  I washed it after taking this picture and I like how it softened up, the differences in the spacing of the quilting is not quite so obvious.

Ducks in a Row by Sew Fresh Quilts is a fun and easy quilt to put together.  I will link up my One Monthly Goal finish at Elm Street Quilts and to  "Let's Make Baby Quilts at Michelle's Romantic Tangle.

2018 Finish Along - Projects, Projects, So Many Projects

I have so many unfinished projects and have been working to finish some of them up while continuing to work on the new things I have started.  As a fabric lover who sees new projects all of the time it is hard to stay focused on finishes.  This Finish Along has helped me cross several things off my list.  I will share with you now my goals for the next few months.

Ducks in a Row quilt for our newest grandson, quilt and bind and give it to little Judah.

Polar bear pillow, quilt and add finishing touches, such as eyes and complete the pillow.

Mini quilt, I plan to finish this one as a pillow.

I am not sure of my plans for this mini but i love the fabrics.

Quilt top and backing ready, this is one that I plan to practice my machine quilting on.

One of my largest and favorite quilts so far, it is in need of binding and a label.

I have been stitching along making houses for my village quilt.  My goal is to keep up and have my quilt top pieced by the end of this quarter.
I have many more unfinished projects packed in tubs waiting for my sewing room to be put back together.  These are things I should be able to get to so they make up my 2018 Finish Along Q2 list.  We will see how it goes.   I am going to go sew 8 more houses together right now.  I am linking up with the 2018 Finish Along Q2.  Happy Stitching.

Magnolia Mystery Finish

I listed several projects in the 2018 Finish Along Q1 post I did here.  I took a look to see how many I had completed and shared on my blog.  I have two quilt tops listed that I had completed and not shared.  I finished my Magnolia Mystery quilt top in time to have my quilt top shared in the Magnolia Mystery reveal.  This was a fun quilt to make and I have added it to my pile of quilt tops ready for quilting.  I will work through the pile slowly and save to have them quilted.  I have started quilting small projects on my little Brother machine but do not plan to quilt  larger projects like this one.

I will say that listing goals does help keep me focused on finishes.  I will share some of the new projects I have started in a post very soon.

One Monthly Goal - Maybe Two

When deciding what to choose for my Monthly Goal for April, all I had to do was take a look at what was laying across my  ironing board.  I am sewing in a small space in our kitchen/dining room so when I try to take a picture there is stuff in the background.  This is a blanket I am making for my newest grandchild.  The quilt pattern is called Ducks in a Row by Lorna McMahon of Sew Fresh Quilts.  I had a great time piecing it together and now have it spray basted and ready to quilt.  I plan to use my walking foot and quilt wavy lines on this quilt.  With my limited experience in this type of work I know that this will be an adventure.

I plan to bind the quilt in some yellow fabric I have.  Goal for this project, quilt and bind this quilt and give it to Judah.

I have given myself a second goal.  This quilt below is one of my favorite and probably the largest I have made so far.  I  finished piecing it over a year ago and received it from my quilter well over a month ago.  Now I must get the binding on.  This is going to be used on our bed at home to brighten up our room.  I will be doing a lot of had stitching to finish up this binding.

Well, it is time to get at it and get these projects moved over to my Finished list.
