One Monthly Goal - Maybe Two

When deciding what to choose for my Monthly Goal for April, all I had to do was take a look at what was laying across my  ironing board.  I am sewing in a small space in our kitchen/dining room so when I try to take a picture there is stuff in the background.  This is a blanket I am making for my newest grandchild.  The quilt pattern is called Ducks in a Row by Lorna McMahon of Sew Fresh Quilts.  I had a great time piecing it together and now have it spray basted and ready to quilt.  I plan to use my walking foot and quilt wavy lines on this quilt.  With my limited experience in this type of work I know that this will be an adventure.

I plan to bind the quilt in some yellow fabric I have.  Goal for this project, quilt and bind this quilt and give it to Judah.

I have given myself a second goal.  This quilt below is one of my favorite and probably the largest I have made so far.  I  finished piecing it over a year ago and received it from my quilter well over a month ago.  Now I must get the binding on.  This is going to be used on our bed at home to brighten up our room.  I will be doing a lot of had stitching to finish up this binding.

Well, it is time to get at it and get these projects moved over to my Finished list.

February Goal Finished Early

I was able to finish my quilt top from the 2017 Block of the Month at A Quilting Life.  I made this quilt using the Kate Spain fabric line "Sunnyside".  I used the scraps from the fat quarters used in another project.  All I had to gather was a few yards of background fabric and the outer border.   Now to get a backing put together and have this quilted.  My word for the year is Finish, and I am excited to have another quilt top finished.

I will link up with the link - February One Monthly Goal at Elm Street Quilts a little later in the month.  In my post here, I shared this quilt as one of my 2018 Finish Along projects and I will link this finish to it.

Block of the Month - February Goal

This is one of the Block of the Month projects I worked on in 2017.  The quilt design was created by  Sherri at A Quilting Life.  My blocks are complete, my goal is to get the top and backing ready for quilting.

These are a couple of the blocks.  They were made using the fabric left over from another quilt I made using fat quarters.

The blocks are stacked together, sashing is cut and border fabric purchased.  Let's see if I can complete the top and prepare it for quilting.

This quilt is on my list for the 2018 UFO Challenge at All People Quilt.com.  It is also on  my list of projects to finish for the 2018 Finish Along.  I will be linking with One Monthly Goal at Elm Street Quilts for my February goal.   I hope you have a chance to finish a project this month.  Happy Stitching.
