Spools Quilt Complete

My Spools quilt was on my list for the All people quilt"s UFO Challenge 2016. We were supposed to work on #3 on our list for the month of March so I purchased some gray fabric to make the binding.  I had thought I might sew the binding on completely by machine but in the end I sewed it on the front and had stitched it to the back.  I enjoy the process of hand stitching so I am not ready to give up that part of the process.  We were waiting for the sun to come out so that we could take a picture. The sky was a little gray and the wind was blowing but my husband held up my quilt for me so that I could snap a picture or two.

This was also a project I listed on my 2016 Finish Along list here.  It is great to be able to get some projects finished and check them off the list.  I also love to add new ideas to my next projects list and seem to find new ideas almost daily.
 Happy Stitching!
I will be sharing this post and finish at "The Crafty Quilter", Hello 2016 Goodbye UFO's.  Visit and see the projects that have been finished this month.

March Finish Goal

My March goal is #3 on the All People Quilt UFO Challenge 2016 list is putting the binding on my Spools quilt.  I bought the  fabric for the binding so my plan is to get it sewn on this week.   If I get it sewn on the quilt I can sit and do the hand stitching while watching The Voice in the evenings this week.
I love the quilting that Leslie did on this quilt, I will show you a full picture when I get that binding done.  Looking forward to the week ahead.

Daisy Days February Finish

My project chosen for February in the 2016 UFO Challenge was my Daisy Days project.  I am happy to say that it is complete and hanging on our dining room wall.

This is how the project looked at the beginning of the month when I first started piecing it together.  This project was designed by Jenny of Elefantz.

All of the piecing complete.

Machine quilting using the serpentine stitch.

Bound in the yellow fabric used on the backing.

It is so nice to finish a special project like this one.

Every Day is a Daisy Day!
Notice the little blessings in your life today.
