Spools Quilt Complete

My Spools quilt was on my list for the All people quilt"s UFO Challenge 2016. We were supposed to work on #3 on our list for the month of March so I purchased some gray fabric to make the binding.  I had thought I might sew the binding on completely by machine but in the end I sewed it on the front and had stitched it to the back.  I enjoy the process of hand stitching so I am not ready to give up that part of the process.  We were waiting for the sun to come out so that we could take a picture. The sky was a little gray and the wind was blowing but my husband held up my quilt for me so that I could snap a picture or two.

This was also a project I listed on my 2016 Finish Along list here.  It is great to be able to get some projects finished and check them off the list.  I also love to add new ideas to my next projects list and seem to find new ideas almost daily.
 Happy Stitching!
I will be sharing this post and finish at "The Crafty Quilter", Hello 2016 Goodbye UFO's.  Visit and see the projects that have been finished this month.
I am also linking with the 2016 Finish Along first quarter finishes at Clover & Violet.

  1. That is a fun, quirky pattern. Very pretty fabric choices. Have a good week.

  2. It's beautiful, Sherry! There's nothing like the satisfaction of sewing a binding on by hand. Thanks for linking up with me.

  3. I love this! Vintage Modern is one of my favorite fabric lines! Thank you for participating in the FAL, on behalf of the 2016 global FAL hosts!

  4. Congrats on a great finish, such pretty colors! Yep there is so much inspiration online every single day, no wonder we all have so many projects going!
