The weather here has definitely changed from warm and sunny to gray and stormy. I think it is a great time to work with this cuddly flannel but I have not quite decided how I will use it, I will have to think on this a little.

Snow Babies Bundle
Doesn't this fabric look soft and cuddly. I won this bundle of "Snow Babies" by Beth Logan for Henry Glass Fabrics. The package arrived last Saturday while my sister and I were having a sewing day here in our dining room. Thank you to Henry Glass Fabrics for their We "Like" You Giveaway earlier this month. Visit the Henry Glass website here and see their fun fabrics.

Super Sized Star Quilt Along
I following along with Little Miss Shabby on a super sized patchwork star quilt.
Block one and two are complete and I have cut the fabric for block three. I am using Winter's Lane fabric that I purchased from Melanie at Fabric Chicks in Coupeville, WA. I knew that I had to make something with this fabric when I saw it for the first time in her shop.
I am ready to get to my sewing machine and start stitching block three together. I want to make a pair or two of little girl fabric shoes also so I better get moving. Happy Friday!

I Was Featured!
My entry bench makeover here, was featured at The Creative Home & Garden Hop at Creative Home Expressions. Wow, that was a mouthful. I have been following Kathy at Creative Home Expressions for a long time and have enjoyed seeing her inspiring posts and creative ideas. It has been a long time between projects around the house for me and it felt good to mark one off my list. I am inspired to see what else I can accomplish. I think a little fall clean up in the garden and some fresh paint on the front door would be a good idea, hmmm, now for a shot of energy to get to it.
Rejoice in the Lord always!
Take time to be thankful for your many blessings, each of us has many.

Canasta Schnibbles Under Construction
I have done pretty a good job of keeping up with my Vintage Schnibbles project each month, oops I am mistaken, I did skip one. I bought the pattern and fabric but did not start it. Anyway back to my Canasta Schnibbles, I have begun working on it and am having fun with it. It was supposed to be completed by the end of August due to a couple of fun summer trips I am behind schedule.
My first two blocks were made when I went upstairs to my sewing room this afternoon.
I decided to work on a few more blocks with the attitude expressed in this picture below.
I received this print from Carrie and Rosie of Miss Rosie's Quilt Co. I think what it says clearly applies to this project. I love the blocks but must keep plugging away to be sure they are accurate and to keep it fun and not a chore that must be completed now. I like it so much that I think I may have to pick up a few more charm squares and make a little bit bigger quilt that originally planned.
I stopped for the day with six completed blocks. I have the 25 blocks for the original plan cut out but as I said I may want to add more. I am using Scrumptious charm squares by Bonnie & Camille. The background fabric is a tone on tone with little white dots. I haven't decided on the sashing fabric, I am thinking a teal blue but I might get a few more blocks done before making that decision.
I hope to share a completed quilt top before too much time passes but I do not want to rush the process and miss the fun.
Visit Sinta at Pink Pincushion and Sherri at A Quilting Life to see the parade of Schnibbles that have been completed.

Entry Bench Makeover
We have had this bench in our entry for several years. It had belonged to my sister and fit nice with the other red accents in the room. The other reds have pretty much disappeared so this bench was now out of place. It was time for a makeover. I decided one day to take the bench out back and see what I could do with it.
After a little sanding, one coat of primer and two coats of paint I really like its new look. After reading a few blog posts from some very creative ladies I decided to try a little paste wax on the bench for a finishing touch. It worked great.
Here it is ready for a couple of new pillows, we are going to do a little shopping today, I might have to be on the lookout for just the right thing.
I will be linking with the Creative Home & Garden Hop
