Holiday Raffle Pillow

Isn't it fun to attend the Holiday craft events at this time of year.  It seems that I don't get the chance to attend many these lately, there is always something going on that keeps me from attending.  We have had a Holiday Marketplace at our church for the past few years.  It is put on to benefit the Lake Country Preschool.  I have not made things to sell but there are always so many wonderful things to buy.

I have tried to make something to donate each time to use as an item for the raffle.  This year I made a pillow that was not only fun to make but I think it will be fun for the person who takes it home.  It adds a cheerful touch to my living room chair as I type this.

This pillow was made with charm squares and I had enough half square triangles to make two pillows.  I think the other pillow will be a gift for someone, that is if I get it put together.  Small projects like this help with the idea of finishing something.
If you happen to live in our area the Holiday Marketplace will be at the Lake Country Baptist Church in Lake Stevens, Washington from 10-4 on November 11th.  Maybe I will see you there.
Happy Finishing!

Mystery Quilt Update

I am having fun with this project.

Remember the fabrics I chose.

All of the pieces are cut.

Pieces sewn together, squared up and ready to put together, waiting for the next step.

This morning in my email I found a link to the instructions for the next step in this project.  Visit Meadow Mist Designs and think about joining in.  The next instructions are here.  This quilt will start taking shape as soon as I get the chance to take the next steps.  Stay tuned for updates.

Sit and Sew Project

Sometimes so much time goes by and I don't find the time to post about the projects I have been working on.  I have been to a few "Sit and Sew" days with my quilting friends in Coupeville and this is one of the projects I worked on.
Sweet Sixteen
I love the soft colors of this quilt top.

I made this using a jelly roll I won from a giveaway at Vroomans Quilts quite a while back.  I always enjoy visiting Sharon's blog and getting lots of inspiration.

I ordered fabric from the fabric line to make the background squares.

The quilt top is pieced together, it needs a good pressing and I must find someone to quilt it for me.  I took the picture inside so the flash washed it out a bit but I do really like the finished top.

There are several quilts in this book that I hope to have a chance to make some day.
It was good to share a project, it has been a while, I look forward to sharing the completed quilt. I put a border of the light gray on top and bottom and will bind it with the gray also.

Magnolia Mystery Quilt

Wow, it has been a long break from blogging.  We have been busy with our move into our new space in the lower level of our house.  I just got back to working with my sewing projects.  One of the projects I wanted to participate in it the Magnolia Mystery Quilt sponsored by Cheryl at Meadow Mist Designs.

I chose my fabric.

Then I cut out the pieces as directed in the August instructions.

Stay tuned to see what happens next month.

I have spent some time working on the cutting of fabric for three other stitch along projects.  I hope to share the finished blocks very soon.

I will also share a few pictures of our new space.
I hope you are having a great summer.  We have had many above average hot days here in the Pacific Northwest.  I am not complaining but would not mind if we have some rain soon.

June Finish Goal

It has been difficult lately to get to any of my sewing or embroidery projects.  We are working on our downsizing and preparing to move to our new space downstairs.  I posted a goal in April that I did not get to and did not even post a goal for May.  Well, here it is June and I thought I would post something reasonable that I might complete.  My Maple Leaf quilt has been pieced and quilted, the binding is ready to put on the quilt.  This will be a fun quilt to have around when we are in our new space.

This is the quilt I made using fabrics from Henry Glass for the Desire to Inspire Challenge.

I think it will help to set a simple goal so that I have a better chance of checking this one of my list.  I will be linking with "One Monthly Goal" at Elm Street Quilts.

Little Lambkin Pillows

It is always fun to make something special for a little one having a birthday.  I saw this pattern when a blogger friend posted pictures of her pillow on her blog, A Quilting Sheep.  I followed the link she shared and purchased the pattern right away here at Ellis and Higgs.

I have two granddaughter with birthdays a week or so apart so I made two pillows, one for each of them.  They were pretty simple and fun to put together.

This pillow is for Mollie, she is now 5.

This pillow is for Emalynn, she will be 5 in a couple of days.

We will celebrate with both of them tomorrow, time to get the pillows wrapped up and ready for the party.  It was fun to do a little sewing and it may be a while before I get another chance. I am slowly moving all of my sewing stuff to my new sewing room.  So much sorting and organizing, so little time.

April Finish Goal

I am taking this project from my list of goals I created for the UFO Challenge 2017 at allpeoplequilt.com.  I will be linking with One Monthly Goal at Elm Street Quilts.  The number chosen for April is 11 and the means I will be working on my "Holiday in London Duffle Bag."  I purchased the fabric and the other things necessary for completing the bag and had intended to follow along with the tutorial Bari J posted on her blog.  Things happened and needless to say I have not started the project.  It has been a couple of years.  I feel like this may be a challenge to complete this month but who doesn't need a challenge.  I will do my best and see what happens.

Happy Stitching!
