Meet and Greet Stitchers Around the World

Visit here if you want to meet many new creative stitchers from all around the world.

I have always loved all kinds of needlework.  For many years I did nothing but cross stitch but I now have gone back to embroidery and I am trying to improve my applique skills.  Most of what I am sharing today is cross stitch.

Back in 1979 we moved to Wisconsin where my husband attended college.  One of my first friends in our new town was a lover of cross stitch.  She shared a little fabric, thread and a pattern with me and I was hooked.  This is one of my first projects and I sent it to my grandmother for Christmas that year.

Over the years I have tried many different projects, using various types of fabric.  My favorite fabrics are linens but as I get older it is a bit easier to stitch on Aida cloth.

I took pictures of my work that is still hanging on my walls here at home.
The one above hangs in our living room.

This picture hangs in our bedroom.  Violets are such lovely and delicate flowers.

This fun picture hangs in our dining room.

This cross stitch is about 5 by 7 and is one of the most detailed I have ever done.  I enjoyed doing it but it seemed to take forever.  It hangs on the wall outside my sewing room.

I made a teacup for each of my five sisters.  I had originally made this teacup picture for my grandmother and it was given back to me after she passed away.

I am also a lover of embroidery and want to share one of my latest projects.  My grandmother inspired me to learn embroidery when I was about thirteen and I have made many projects since then.

This is one of my  latest embroidery projects.   It is stitched on linen using a Crabapple Hill design called Nesting Time.   I have not decided how this will be finished off.  I could frame it or  make a large pillow but I will have to think about it a little longer.

Now I would like to have a little giveaway.  Below is a pincushion I made and I would like to share it with someone.  It is made using linen with applique and embroidery.  The design was created by Cheryl of Willowberry Designs.  Visit my blog post here where I share a little more about this fun stitch along.  If you would like to have the chance to win the pincushion, just leave a comment and I will pick the winner on April 4th, which is my birthday and a fun way to celebrate.

Leave a comment and let me know if you like needlework and if so which type is your favorite.  I think I will pick a winner the old fashioned way and have my husband pull a name out of a basket.

I hope you enjoyed your visit with me today and that you will take a little time to visit the other stitchers.  Thank you Mdm Samm and Cori for this Meet and Greet.

Below is the list of stitchers signed up for this Meet and Greet.
