A Finish-Along Finish and Adventures in Babysitting

While at the beach last weekend I actually completed the binding on two quilts.  This is my Bloggers Block of the Month.  I pieced the blocks for this quilt in 2012.  I had to take the borders off because I had stretched the fabric so it was set aside for a while.  I repaired it and then it was recently quilted by Leslie who did a fabulous job.  Now it is complete, I have washed it and used it for my cover when I took a little nap today.

This was on my list for Finish-Along 2015 post.

We had our grandson Parker with us for a little while this afternoon.  He ate his lunch but then saw Papa eating a grilled cheese sandwich and just had to have one.  Here he is in the living room with a greasy cheese sandwich.  That is not done around here and I think he knows that he is getting away with something.
Grandma isn't saying anything and she is busy taking pictures of me so it must be o.k. with her.

I had to take a picture of the back of his curly head where his little halo is sticking up above his head.

After he finished eating his sandwich under my watchful eye I turned away and he disappeared.  This is where I found the little angel, trying to escape.

It wasn't working out to well for him and he was not happy about it.

May Project Finished

We spent the weekend at the beach and I took this project along to complete the binding.  My goal post for this project was here and for the 2015 Finish Along here.  I worked on the machine sewing of the binding the night before we left and it was ready to take with me to hand stitch the binding to the back.  This quilt will be going to its new home soon and I am sure that it will be loved.  I am going to pop it in the washer to soften it up right now.

I am so glad that I was able to complete my May project for A Lovely Year of Finishes 2015 before the month was over.  I will be linking to ALYOF  and the 2015 Finish Along.

Let's See What's Bloomin'

Inside the house we have enjoyed the Amaryllis grown from a kit given as a gift.  It was simple to grow and put on a lovely display for quite some time.  Now I should learn how to take care of the bulb so that I can try again.

Our Camellia outside our back door did well this year but we almost missed the flowers with the weather as it was.  Sometimes we just have to walk around in the rain or cold to get a glimpse at what is blooming.

Our biggest excitement this year in our garden is the flowers on the Wisteria.  We have lived here for ten years now and these are the first flowers we have seen on this plant.  I thought I had done a pretty good job of pruning this plant each year but Pat decided to aggressively prune it back this year and  that seems to have made a difference.

A birthday bouquet

I have been watching the flowers start to bloom in our garden and now that the weather has improved I am pulling a few more weeds each day.  It really feels like spring to me now.

ALOYF May Goal

I chose to make this quilt my May goal.  It is in need of binding and has been waiting a while.  May is the month to complete this project, it is also good timing because I want to give it as a gift to someone who loves it.  I will be linking up with A Lovely Year of Finishes.  Thank you to Shanna and Melissa for the inspiration.
April Showers bring May flowers.
This quilt is full of flowers and bright colors.  It is quilted with flower designs.

I forgot to share the fabric I used on the back of the last project I finished.  I put little corner triangles on the back to help with hanging this project.

I am looking forward to getting a little sewing done this week, if not at home I will be able to work on something at the all day Sit and Sew on Friday.  Have a lovely creative week.
